Western Railway Unveils Special Train Services for Ganpati Festival 2024
Mumbai: Western Railway Announces Additional Trains for Ganpati Festival
In preparation for the Ganpati Festival 2024, Western Railway has introduced six special train services to accommodate the surge in passengers. These trains will operate across various routes, ensuring smoother travel for devotees and travelers during this peak period.
1. Mumbai Central – Thokur Weekly Special
The Mumbai Central – Thokur Weekly Special (Train No. 09001) will commence its journey from Mumbai Central every Tuesday at 12:00 PM, arriving in Thokur at 08:50 AM the following day. This service will run from September 3rd to 17th, 2024. Conversely, Train No. 09002 will depart Thokur every Wednesday at 11:00 AM and reach Mumbai Central at 07:05 AM the next day, operating from September 4th to 18th, 2024.
These trains will make stops at multiple stations including Borivali, Vasai Road, Panvel, and several others along the route. Passengers can choose from AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.
2. Mumbai Central – Sawantwadi Road Special
The Mumbai Central – Sawantwadi Road Special (Train No. 09009) will run daily (except Tuesdays) from September 2nd to 16th, 2024. It will depart Mumbai Central at 12:00 PM and arrive at Sawantwadi Road at 02:30 AM the next day. Train No. 09010 will operate daily (except Wednesdays) from Sawantwadi Road, leaving at 04:50 AM and reaching Mumbai Central at 08:10 PM, from September 3rd to 17th, 2024.
This train will stop at key stations including Borivali, Vasai Road, and Ratnagiri. It will feature AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.
3. Bandra Terminus – Kudal Weekly Special
The Bandra Terminus – Kudal Weekly Special (Train No. 09015) will run every Thursday, departing Bandra Terminus at 2:40 PM and reaching Kudal at 03:30 AM the following day. This service is scheduled from September 5th to 19th, 2024. Train No. 09016 will return from Kudal every Friday at 04:30 AM and arrive at Bandra Terminus at 06:15 PM, running from September 6th to 20th, 2024.This train will halt at stations such as Borivali, Vasai Road, and Ratnagiri. General Second Class Seating coaches will be available.
4. Ahmedabad – Kudal Weekly Special
The Ahmedabad – Kudal Weekly Special (Train No. 09412) will depart from Ahmedabad every Tuesday at 09:30 AM and arrive in Kudal at 03:30 AM the next day, operating from September 3rd to 17th, 2024. Train No. 09411 will leave Kudal every Wednesday at 04:30 AM and reach Ahmedabad at 11:45 PM, from September 4th to 18th, 2024.
Stops will include Vadodara, Surat, and Kudal. Passengers can choose from AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.
5. Vishvamitri – Kudal Weekly Special
The Vishvamitri – Kudal Weekly Special (Train No. 09150) will depart every Monday at 10:00 AM, reaching Kudal at 03:30 AM the next day, from September 2nd to 16th, 2024. Conversely, Train No. 09149 will leave Kudal every Tuesday at 04:30 AM and arrive at Vishvamitri at 10:00 PM, operating from September 3rd to 17th, 2024.
This service will stop at Bharuch, Surat, and Ratnagiri, with AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches available.
6. Ahmedabad – Mangaluru Weekly Special
The Ahmedabad – Mangaluru Weekly Special (Train No. 09424) will depart Ahmedabad every Friday at 4:00 PM, reaching Mangaluru at 7:45 PM the next day, from September 6th to 20th, 2024. Train No. 09423 will run from Mangaluru every Saturday at 10:10 PM, arriving in Ahmedabad at 02:15 AM on Monday, from September 7th to 21st, 2024.
This train will make stops at Nadiad, Vadodara, and Mangaluru, with AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.
The initiative aims to ease travel for the festival’s heavy traffic, providing additional convenience for passengers during this busy season.
